Parish Meeting - Remede
PUBLICATION – ST. PETER PORT
The Electors and Ratepayers of the Town and Parish of St. Peter Port are invited by the Constables and Douzaine to meet at the Harry Bound Room, Les Cotils on Monday 24th February 2025, at the conclusion of the meeting convened by the Rector which commences at 7.30pm to transact the following business:
1. To decide whether they are in favour of voting the following amounts to be levied by means of
Owner’s Rate for the current year.

Office operational expenses, including printing, stationery, IT equipment, postage, accountancy, rent, legal and sundry other parochial expenses | 187,840 |
Repair and maintenance of the Constables’ Office building | 2,000 |
Street Lighting | 143,000 |
Cost of publishing Parochial Notices | 500 |
Public needs as approved by the Parish, viz: Upkeep of Cambridge Park, Plantations, Machinery, Pumps, Street Furniture, Floral, Festoon and Christmas lighting | 235,970 |
Grants to Schools for the purchase of books | 5,000 |
Cadastre Expenses (contribution to States Cadastre) | 17,500 |
Less rents/investments received | -154,300 |
Total | 724,982 |
2. To approve that the said Owner’s Rate, together with that approved at the meeting convened by
the Priest-in-Charge shall be levied by applying the relative factors to the TRP unit value of the
Cadastre categories, available to view at the Constables Office.
3. To decide whether they are in favour of voting £881,150 to be levied upon property owners by
means of Refuse Rate for the collection of household waste by levying a fixed charge per habitable
unit of £97.39 for the current year.
4. To deliver the Parish plan update to include reports from Committees.
5. Duly audited Parish accounts for 2021, 2022 and 2023 are available to view in the office one week
prior to the meeting.
6. Any other business the parishioners may wish to bring before the meeting, it being well understood
that no decisions can be made.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, parishioners are invited to stay for refreshments and meet the Constables and Douzeniers.
