Accounts and rates - Church

PARISH OF ST PIERRE DU BOIS

The Rector and Churchwardens of St Pierre du Bois request the Ratepayers and Electors thereof to meet at The Parish Community Hall on Wednesday April 9th 2025 at 7.00 pm for the following purposes:-

1.

To approve the Trésor Account which has been duly scrutinised, before the Very Reverend Timothy R. Barker, Dean of Guernsey, or his delegate.

2.

To approve the Parochial Church Property Management Board Accounts for the year ended 2024 which have been duly scrutinised.  (The accounts may be inspected at the Douzaine Room).

3.

To appoint scrutineers for the Parochial Church Property Management Board Accounts for the current year.

4.

To elect two ratepayers to serve on the Parochial Church Property Management Board to replace David White and Simon Wood , Simon Wood is eligible for re-election.

5.

To receive the annual report of the Parochial Church Property Management Board relating to the insurance of the parochial church property.

6.

To decide whether, on the recommendation of the Parochial Church Property Management Board they are of the opinion to levy the following sums by means of Owner's Rate:

Ordinary repairs to the Parish Church

£3,000.00

Insurance of Parish Church and Churchyard  against all risks other than moveable property

£2’800.00

Extraordinary repairs to the Parish Church Sundry external pointing   

£1,000.00

Investigate and repair water ingress through window in Tower.

£1’500.00

Investigate and repair sagging  flooring due to  Damp/water ingress

£3’000.00

Remuneration to bell ringers on public occasions

£120.00

7.

To request the Constables to apply to the Royal Court for a Remède to levy the sums voted under paragraph 6 above.
