The Prohibited and One-Way Streets (Amendment) Order, 2026
Made 12th January, 2026
Coming into operation 20th January, 2026
THE COMMITTEE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT & INFRASTRUCTURE, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 3A(1) of the Prohibited and One-Way Streets Ordinance, 1989, and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby orders:-
Amendment to 1989 Ordinance.
1. The Prohibited and One-Way Streets Ordinance, 1989 is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 2 of Part IX of Schedule 1, the following paragraph:
"3. Rue de l'Arquet (which, for the avoidance of doubt, includes any part of that road not in the parish of St Saviour): this paragraph -
(a) applies only -
(i) to power-driven vehicles (including motorcycles), and
(ii) from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on days that La Houguette Primary School is open to pupils in accordance with the determinations of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture under section 8 of the Education (Guernsey) Law, 1970 or in accordance with any similar power under any other enactment, and
(b) does not apply to -
(i) vehicles used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency,
(ii) vehicles travelling to or from premises located on Rue de l'Arquet, or
(iii) anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a member of the salaried police force of the Island of Guernsey or, within the limits of their jurisdiction, a member of the special constabulary of the Island of Guernsey.".
Repeal.
2. The Traffic Temporary (Rue de l'Arquet) Regulations, 2024 are hereby repealed.
Citation.
3. This Order may be cited as the Prohibited and One-Way Streets (Amendment) Order, 2026.
Commencement.
4. This Order comes into force on the 20th January, 2026.
