St Saviours Parish Meeting
The Constables and Douzeniers of the Parish of Saint Saviour invite the Ratepayers and Electors thereof to meet in the Herm and Jethou Rooms at St Saviour’s Community Centre, on Monday 13th April 2026, immediately following the Meeting already convened by the Rector and Churchwardens for 7.00pm, to transact the following business:
- To approve the minutes of the meetings held on 14th April 2025 and 4th November 2025. *
- To approve the Constables’ Accounts for 2025. *
- To approve the Constables making an application to the Royal Court under the provisions of the Parochial Taxation (Reserve Fund) (Guernsey) Law 1997, as amended, for the sum of £70,000 to be released for payment of Church tower repairs.
- To decide whether they are in favour of voting the following amounts, for secular needs, to be levied by means of Owners’ Rates in 2026 (in accordance with estimates where appropriate):

- To decide whether they are in favour of voting £156,500 to be levied for the 2026 Refuse Habitable Unit Charge for the collection of household refuse.
- To authorise the Constables to apply to the Royal Court for permission to levy the above sums by means of Owners and Refuse Rates.
- To decide that the Rates shall be levied applying the relative factors.*
- To take all such measures relating to the above as the Constables and Douzaine may deem advisable.

- To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 14 April 2025.
- To approve the Tresor Account which has been duly scrutinised, before the Very Reverend Timothy R. Barker, Dean of Guernsey or his delegate.
- To approve the St Saviour’s Church Property Management Board Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025, which have been subject to the chartered accountants’ report. (The accounts may be inspected at the Douzaine Room).
- To appoint chartered accountants for the St Saviour’s Church Property Management Board Accounts for the current year.
- To elect two ratepayers to serve on the St Saviour’s Church Property Management Board for the next year to replace Mr. Roger Arundale and Mr. Bruce Cova, both of whom are eligible for re-election.
- To receive the annual report of the St Saviour’s Church Property Management Board relating to the insurance of the parish church property.
- To decide whether, on the recommendations of the St Saviour’s Church Property Management Board, they are in favour of voting the following amounts to be levied by means of Owners’ Rate in 2026:

8. To request the Constables to make application to the Royal Court under the provisions of the Parochial Taxation (Reserve Funds) (Guernsey) Law, 1997, as amended, for the sum of £70,000 to be released for the purpose specified in Proposition 7.
9. To authorise the Constables to apply to the Royal Court for permission to levy the above sum of £59,084 by means of Owners’ Rate.
10. To take all such measures relating to the above as the Constables and Douzaine may deem advisable.
